About Us

Ryan and I were married in 1998, after dating for just over 2 years.  We met in our youth group, at First Baptist Church, Haysville, Kansas.  We are one of those "youth group couples" that actually survived the dramatic teen romance!  Before marrying, we both felt a clear calling from God to serve Him in full time ministry.  Ryan has served in a variety of positions and churches.  He is currently serving as Senior Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in North Platte, Nebraska.  We have been here since August 2011, and are loving our community, and our church family!  After college, I worked as a store manager for Family Christian Stores.  In 2003, when Zach was 8 months old, God opened the doors for me to be able to stay at home with my children!  Our family began to grow even more, adding Payton in 2004, Holly in 2006, and Spencer in 2008.  In 2009, I received a call from our former youth minister, asking me to consider coming to work for him, with Tom Cox World Ministries.  After much prayer, I began my work from home job with TCWM, as the International Sponsorship Director.  We have boarding schools in India and Uganda, and I take care of all aspects of our child and pastor sponsorship program.  I love how God is using me to serve him, and serve children and pastors throughout the world, all while being able to work from home!

Here is a little bit of info about each of us...

Ryan: A die-hard Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan (from the cream-sicle days!), sports fanatic (of ALMOST any variety...but don't get him started on the non-sport of NASCAR), loves to travel (as long as he doesn't have to drive), very outdoors-y.  He currently serves as the Vice-president of the Board of Directors of The Women's Resource Center in North Platte.  Ryan has a passion for serving the "least of these", whether it's here in North Platte or around the world (see Matthew 25).

Sarah: I love almost anything musical.  I love to sing, and have recently begun playing my violin occasionally in church (after at least a decade of NOT playing!).  I also love to read!  I'll read a variety of books, both fiction and non-fiction.  My love for the people of the world began when I was a little girl, in Mission Friends and GAs.  I always loved learning about various cultures, and how people minister and spread the gospel in creative ways.  I love seeing this sort of love growing in my children.

Zach: Zachary is our serious, straight-laced son.  He loves to read and research.  Sometimes, I think he would be happy just reading through the encyclopedias!  He is very outgoing and friendly, always eager to make a newcomer feel comfortable, whether in Sunday School class, or at school.  He loves to read his Bible, most recently interested in the book of Revelation...not surprising for a 10 year old boy!

Payton: Payton is my compassionate, sensitive son.  He is always concerned about how people feel, emotionally and physically.  When I'm not feeling well, he's the first to come and comfort me.  He also is my music lover.  He will pick up any instrument and try to play.  Payton also loves to dance.  He's recently begun Hip Hop classes at The Stage, a Christian Dance Studio.

Holly: Holly is our princess, for sure.  She is a girly-girl that likes to mix it up with the boys, climbing trees and riding bikes.  However, with 3 brothers, don't mess with this redhead.  She can absolutely hold her own!  She is in Kindergarten this year, and has begun drawing and coloring constantly!  She always has a picture, note, or project to share with us.  Holly also dances at The Stage, which is the highlight of her week.  She loves any kind of dance, having participated in Hip Hop,Tap, Bollywood, and traditional dance.

Spencer: I like to say that Spencer is the perfect combination of Zach and Payton.  He loves each of the things they love equally...like you perfectly meshed the 2 boys together.  Spencer is full of "life"...spunky, energetic, and enthusiastic about everything.  He loves wild animals, with a special affinity for big cats.  He certainly has the "anything you can do, I can do, too" attitude!

Now that you've gotten a glimpse into our family, I pray that God has given you ideas on how to pray for each of us, as we prepare to open our family as God directs.
